If there's one thing we like here at Furious Customs it's fast small vehicles which always seem to blow your mind. The Mazda 3, or rather the Mazdaspeed3 is exactly one of those vehicles. The relatively mundane looks never failed to amaze anyone trying to catch it or even challenge it. It really was a wolf in sheep's clothing. The new generation of the Mazda 3 is that much better, with lots of improvements being made for the 2016 model.
First of all, there's the looks which are just killer. The styling alone is something to die for, but boy is it striking as well. It has a dose of aggression that most of its competitors simply lack. It doesn't even have to be the Mazdaspeed model, the regular Mazda 3 is just as great in the styling department as the fast version. This means that you can get those looks at a relatively affordable price, a win-win for both the customer and the manufacturer.
The standard car hides a 2.0 liter four-cylinder under the hood making 155 horsepower, while the 2.5 liter four-cylinder found on the "S" model makes for a much heftier 184 horsepower. That 30 hp increase might not be enough to make you choose the 2.5 but consider that it also makes 30 more lb-ft of torque, 150 versus 180, and that's a great deal. You can certainly feel the extra grunt of the 2.5 unit, having that much more mid-range punch from way lower down in the rev range.
Furious Customs actually carries a lot of top-quality aftermarket products for the Mazdaspeed3, both the 07'-10' and 10'+ models. Check them out here
Mazda went into unfamiliar waters with the RX-7. Sure, they had used a rotary engine to power their cars before, but they never expected for a car to have such an enormous success. The Mazda RX-7 was in production 1978 to 2002. Three iterations of it have come out of Mazda's factories throughout this lifespan, [...]
