The brand new Toyota Supra

We're no strangers to the Toyota Supra. Furious Customs carries a lot of performance aftermarket parts for both the third (III) and fourth (IV) gen Supra. But if there's one thing that can get us more excited than jdm parts for a Supra, it's a completely brand new Supra. That's right, it's officially happening. Although there has been a lot of speculation whether the car will be built, we can finally conclude and say: Yes, it is! Now this doesn't come as a really big surprise since Toyota has trademarked the Supra name a while ago and we've had confirmation that development has been underway for a few years now, but new speculations recently surfaced and boy do they get us excited. 

As some of you may know, the new Supra is a joint venture between Toyota and BMW. It's not sure which company will be in charge of what, but the newest rumors suggest that the Supra will carry a brand new twin-turbo V6 currently being developed for the Lexus GS and LS. Obviously the one in the Supra will be turned all the way up to 11. We can't say we weren't hoping for an inline-six because we were, but hey, a V6 isn't that bad, especially if you have two turbochargers attached to it.

Now of course, we're talking this with some reserve in mind. Other rumors suggested that it will actually have electric motors on each wheel provided by BMW so nothing is still certain at this point, however the V6 option seems the most likely for now. If it does indeed have electric motors, they will probably only be added as an addition to the V6 rather than as a stand-alone power source of the Supra.
